Ahmed Mohamed Islam Madobe, the Jubaland state leader of Somalia has held a meeting with the UN special representative to Somalia James Swan over the electrol impasse in Somalia.
Though no further details were given, this meeting between the two sides seems to be one of the last efforts to convince Jubaland leader to be part of the solution to the current political tension in the country.
Ahmed Madobe arrived in Mogadishu yesterday ahead of the sixth round of the electoral talks. The electoral talks between regional state leaders and the federal government is expected to take place near Afisyoni in Halane base tomorrow.
Though talks still face obstacles over demands raised by the two regional states leaders of Jubaland and Puntland as well as opposition, the main agenda of this round would be the signing of the implementation process of the September 17 deal and to support the Baidoa Framework agreed to by a joint technical committee.
