Wajir Governor Mohamed Mohamud has been impeached over allegations of gross misconduct, abuse of office and financial impropriety.
Thirty-seven Members of the County Assembly voted in favour of the impeachment motion while 10 opposed his removal from office.
The Governor has since dismissed the allegations cited in the impeachment motion, accusing his political rivals of being behind the push to eject him from office.
