Somalia Prime Minister Mohamed Hussein Roble has met with the ambassador of Saudi Arabia to Somalia, Ahmed Bin Mohammed in Mogadishu to discuss humanitarian assistance to the Somali People.
The meeting comes after PM Roble held a similar meeting with businessmen, religious leaders and foreign ambassadors on drought relief efforts to combat the drought that has severely affected a large number of people living in the central and Southern parts of the country.
In its latest drought response released on Monday, the United Nations confirmed that some 271,000 people have fled their homes in search of water, food and pasture. The UN projects that 3.5 million people are in extreme hunger after three consecutive collapse of rainfalls in the Horn of African Nation with some of the areas facing the driest season ever experienced in 40 years.
