President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud of Somalia attended an emergency virtual meeting of IGAD’s Heads of State Chaired by the Executive Secretary of the Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD) Dr Workneh Gebeyehu to discuss the worrisome confrontations in Sudan.
President Hassan Sheikh showed concern about the growing situation in Sudan, believes that there is an opportunity to restore the situation to normal and urged the parties involved to halt the confrontations and address disagreements through dialogue & mutual understanding.
Leaders at the session discussed the worrying situation in Sudan, which has been in conflicts for the last couple of days. The Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD) has called for an immediate cessation of hostilities between the warring parties in Sudan.
