In a meeting between Somalia President, Hassan Sheikh Mohamed and Sudan’s special envoy Dafallah Alhaj Ali in Mogadishu. Villa Somalia revealed, The duo discussed the ongoing crisis in Sudan.
President Hassan Sheikh who conveyed his condolence and solidarity has emphasized Somalia’s support for the people of Sudan and reiterated his call for ceasefire in Sudan as rival parts still fight over the control of the country.
He urged an immediate ceasefire as the nation seeks peace and stability in these challenging times. An armed conflict between rival factions of the military government of Sudan began on 15 April 2023. It started when clashes broke out in western Sudan, in the capital city of Khartoum, and in the Darfur region.
Hundreds of people have been killed and thousands were wounded since the fight commenced last month as there is no peaceful agreement reached by the two sides.
