Somalia’s envoy for Somaliland affairs, Abdikareem Hussein Guled has engaged in talks with some of the foreign diplomats in Mogadishu to focus on future talks between Somaliland and Somalia which the two authorities have yet to determine the date to resume talks.
Abdikareem Hussein Guled held separate meetings with the EU ambassador to Somalia Tiina Intelmann and the Turkish ambassador to Somalia Ibraahim Mete Yagli to prioritize the importance of resuming the talks anytime soon.
The foreign diplomats endorsed the efforts to restart talks and pledged to play their part regarding the talks and encouraged all sides to level up their plans to meet again on the table.
Abdikariim Hussein Guled, the former Somalia’s Galmudug state who was recently appointed as the special envoy for Somaliland affairs, recently noted that Mogadishu could soon activate talks with Hargeisa.
