The National Consultative Forum enters the second day at the Presidential Palace in Villa Somalia, bringing together the various heads of state and regional authorities. The meeting was chaired by the President of Somalia, Hassan Sheikh Mohammed.
During the two-day summit, the Federal and Federal Member States discussed the country’s security, accelerating drought response, and combating al Shabaab.
The meeting comes as Mogadishu seeks to shore up its cooperation with the Federal Member States ahead of President Mohamud’s trip to New York for the United Nations General Assembly meeting.
A few days ago, the regional governments’ finance ministers announced that they had ceased all collaboration with the Federal ministry of finance after they failed to reach an agreement on the share of $100 million in financial help from the World Bank
