Salaam African Bank has officially acquired Top Financial Limited bank in Uganda. The acquisition was announced by the central bank of Uganda on Monday, August 8th, 2022. The central bank said the deal has met all regulatory and legal requirements of the East African nation.
Salam African Bank which is headquartered in Djibouti was officially opened in 2008. Since then, the bank rose to become the largest in the country. It has since expanded to Ethiopia, Kenya and Malaysia where it opened Waafi Bank.
In a statement, Salaam African Bank said the acquisition of Top Financial Limited is an indicator of the Bank’s vision to improve trade among the countries and communities of East Africa, Horn of Africa and the Far East.
