Several politicians and delegations arrived in Kismayu Saturday to attend the inauguration of Jubbaland president Ahmed Madobe.
The delegations from Mogadishu, Garowe, and Nairobi include prominent politicians in Somalia who have served in various positions in Somalia.
Sources in Kismayu indicate security has been tightened ahead of the inauguration whose date has not been announced but expected to be this week. The event was postponed late last month after the Federal Government imposed travel restrictions to the coastal city.
Former President of Galmudug President Abdikarin Hussein Guled and former South West President Sharif Hassan Sheikh Adan arrived in the city of Kismayo on Tuesday.
The Federal Government has maintained it does not recognise Madobe’s election.
