President Abdirahman Irro Holds High-Level Consultations with Warsangeli Elders and Community Leaders

H.E. Abdirahman Mohamed Abdillahi (Irro), President of the Republic of Somaliland, this evening convened a distinguished gathering in Erigavo with the elders, intellectuals, and cultural leaders of the Warsangeli community, with the participation of the Grand Sultan, Sultan Saeed Sultan Abdisalan Sultan Maxamuud Ali Shire.

The deliberations were conducted in a spirit of mutual respect, trust, and national consultation. The discussions addressed matters of profound national significance, including the consolidation of peace, the reinforcement of social cohesion in Erigavo, and the advancement of national unity. Participants also emphasized the pivotal role of the Warsangeli community in promoting sustainable development and lasting prosperity for the Republic of Somaliland.

President Abdirahman Irro conveyed his deep and sincere appreciation to the Grand Sultan and other traditional leaders for their historic and continued contributions to maintaining peace and social harmony in the Sanaag region, emphasizing that the unity, stability, and resilience of Somaliland’s people represent the nation’s most treasured and enduring asset.

His Excellency further reaffirmed the Government’s recognition of the Warsangeli community’s indispensable role in nation-building, underscoring that governance and the stewardship of public affairs must be firmly grounded in consultation, justice, and the trust of the citizenry.

The elders and leaders of the Warsangeli community warmly welcomed the President, lauding his transparent, visionary, and principled leadership, as well as his unwavering dedication to advancing peace, unity, and comprehensive development throughout the Sanaag region.

For their part, the Warsangeli community solemnly reaffirmed their steadfast commitment to the sovereignty, integrity, and continued existence of the Republic of Somaliland, pledging to actively participate in initiatives aimed at strengthening national reconciliation, enduring stability, and holistic development.
