President Abdirahman Irro Unveils Key Healthcare Initiatives in Borama

His Excellency, Dr. Abdirahman Mohamed Abdilahi (Irro), President of the Republic of Somaliland, today officially inaugurated a cutting-edge Oxygen Production Plant at Borama General Hospital, marking a significant milestone in the government’s commitment to enhancing healthcare infrastructure and life-saving medical services across the region.

In conjunction with this, President Irro laid the foundation stone for a new Mental Health Hospital in Borama, designed to provide specialized care for individuals suffering from mental and neurological disorders. This project underscores the administration’s strategic focus on broadening access to comprehensive healthcare services, while addressing critical public health needs with innovation and compassion.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by senior government officials, including the Minister and Director General of the Ministry of Health Development, representatives from the Awdal Regional Administration, Borama District authorities, and medical personnel from Borama General Hospital. The gathering highlighted the shared commitment of government and community stakeholders to advancing the well-being of Somaliland’s citizens.

President Irro emphasized that the new Oxygen Plant will deliver immediate, life-saving benefits by ensuring timely access to medical oxygen, while significantly reducing the costs and logistical challenges previously associated with its supply. He further highlighted that the Mental Health Hospital will serve as a pivotal center for the region, advancing mental healthcare and reinforcing the government’s dedication to the holistic development of public health services.
