President Irro Breaks Ground on Gabiley’s Football Stadium

During the second day of his official working visit to Gabiley, the President of the Republic of Somaliland, H.E. Abdirahman Mohamed Abdilahi (Irro), laid the foundation stone for a modern football stadium that will stand as a landmark facility for the region and the nation at large.

The stadium, once completed, will be capable of hosting both regional and national tournaments, providing young athletes with the infrastructure they need to compete, excel, and represent Somaliland with pride.

In his keynote address, President Irro emphasized that sports are a pillar of national unity and youth empowerment. He stated that football strengthens community ties, promotes health and discipline, unlocks the potential of the younger generation, and reinforces the values of patriotism and national identity.

The people of Gabiley warmly received the project, describing it as a historic investment that will uplift the city’s youth, foster opportunity, and elevate the standing of Gabiley within Somaliland.
