President Muse Bihi Holds Talks with Ethiopia’s Somali Regional Administration

The high level delegation led by the chief of security for Ethiopia’s Somali region was in Hargeisa for some days on an official working visit.

The delegation consisted of senior military officials at Federal and regional levels who held separate meetings with Somaliland government officials.

Somaliland President Muse Bihi Abdi received the delegation from Ethiopia’s Somali region at the presidential palace.

Bihi said that the Somali region will be a bridge that links the regional administrations and the governments of the populaces within the Horn.

Dr Husein Hashi Qasim, the chief of security for Ethiopia’s Somali administration lauded the progress attained in maintaining Somaliland’s security and stability.

During the meeting, both sides agreed to enhance the cooperation on the security of border areas and to jointly combat terrorism.

The two sides also agreed to prevent the flow of illegal arms smuggling.

The delegation which paid an inspection tour to the port city of Berbera returned to Jigjiga after wrapping up its visit to Somaliland.
