President of Somaliland Holds Key Meeting with Djibouti’s Representative

The President of the Republic of Somaliland, Mr. Abdirahman Mohamed Abdillahi (Cirro), held an important meeting today at the Presidential Palace with the Representative of the Republic of Djibouti to Somaliland, Ambassador Hussein Omar Kawaliyeh.

According to a press release from the Presidential office, the discussions focused on strengthening the longstanding ties between the two countries and enhancing cooperation in areas including security, economy, and culture.

The meeting also served to clarify that recent rumors suggesting the Djiboutian Ambassador had left Somaliland were unfounded.  This meeting underscores that the relationship between Somaliland and Djibouti remains strong, with both sides committed to further deepening bilateral cooperation.

Notably, Djibouti was the first country visited by President Cirro in the Horn of Africa following his election in November of last year, highlighting the strategic importance of Djibouti in Somaliland’s regional diplomatic engagements.
