President Ruto Reveals Foreign Companies Eyeing 300,000 Kenyan Employees for Digital Sector

President William Ruto has announced that foreign digital companies have shown significant interest in hiring nearly 300,000 Kenyan employees for their expanding digital industries.

In a groundbreaking announcement during a religious gathering in Nairobi’s Langata area, President Ruto spoke passionately about the government’s successful efforts in securing employment opportunities for Kenyan youth in prominent global companies, such as Google, Intel, and Apple.
Ruto revealed that negotiations with multiple foreign firms had progressed positively during his recent visit to the United States, where he personally toured these tech giants and witnessed their eagerness to employ Kenyan talent in the digital arena.
“We have engaged in negotiations with multiple companies. During my visit to the United States, I toured Google, Intel, and Apple, and they are actively seeking Kenyan youth to work in the digital sector,” President Ruto stated.
Highlighting the government’s proactive stance, the President revealed plans to establish Information, Communication, and Technology (ICT) hubs in every ward across Kenya. These hubs will serve as training centers, equipping young Kenyans with the requisite skills and knowledge necessary to excel in digital roles abroad.
To further facilitate this, the Ministry of ICT recently launched a program providing free Wi-Fi hotspots in strategic locations, bolstering access to digital resources and connectivity across the nation.
