Somalia’s Prime Minister has paid a visit to the Police headquarters in Mogadishu to evaluate the conditions of the Police and also encourage them to tighten security in the country as the country gears up for general elections this year.
Mohamed Hussein Rooble, the Prime Minister of Somalia, was accompanied by the Somalia Police Commissioner Maj. Gen. Abdi Hassan Mohamed and deputy police commissioner Zakia Hussein along with top officers and urged the police to heighten security in the country and maintain discipline.
He urged the police to fulfil their duties and promised that the Federal Government will place great importance on catering for their welfare.
The Prime Minister told the Police officers that it is their responsibility to always protect the citizens and the country. He pledged the government’s support to them in providing whatever is needed to carry execute their duties efficiiently.
The Premier also lauded the police for improving the security of the city. Mr Roble also urged the police to take actions against robbery, murder, and rapes.
After meeting with the top security officers, the Prime Minister also toured several checkpoints in the city to inspect the security condition.
