The Government of the Republic of Somaliland has today distributed emergency food aid to 1,000 vulnerable families in the Sool region, as part of its ongoing efforts to support communities affected by drought and harsh living conditions.
The assistance package included essential food items, aimed at easing the burden on families struggling with shortages. Officials overseeing the delivery emphasized that the government remains committed to addressing the needs of its citizens, particularly those most impacted by poverty and natural challenges.
Speaking during the handover, government representatives stated that the initiative reflects Somaliland’s determination to stand with its people during difficult times.
Beneficiary families expressed their gratitude, noting that the aid would greatly improve their living situation.
This latest delivery is part of a broader nationwide relief program. In recent weeks, the Somaliland government has dispatched food supplies, clean water, medicine, and household materials to both western and eastern regions of the country, underscoring a coordinated response to the ongoing drought crisis.
