Nairobi, Kenya – A high-level delegation from the Central Bank of Somaliland, the Ministry of Finance, and the Ministry of Planning has successfully concluded an intensive capacity-building workshop on Training of Trainers in Computable General Equilibrium (CGE) Modelling in Nairobi, Kenya.
The workshop marks a major milestone in Somaliland’s efforts to strengthen evidence-based economic policymaking and enhance institutional capacity for data-driven decision-making. Through the training, participants gained advanced skills in economic modelling and forecasting—tools essential for formulating sound policies aligned with the National Development Plan (NDP-III) and Vision 2030.
The initiative underscores the government’s growing commitment to improving economic governance and promoting effective coordination among key financial and planning institutions.
Officials described the workshop as a landmark achievement that will enable Somaliland to produce more reliable economic data and policy analysis to guide future development priorities.
