On Wednesday, Somaliland President H.E. Abdirahman Mohamed Abdillahi Irro held a series of strategic diplomatic engagements aimed at strengthening international cooperation in governance, security, and development.
President Irro met with the Danish Ambassador, H.E. Steen Sonne Andersen, where he expressed his deep appreciation for Denmark’s longstanding partnership with Somaliland. Their discussions focused on expanding cooperation in security, economic development, social services, and peacebuilding. The President also welcomed Denmark’s recognition of Somaliland’s continued progress, particularly in strengthening stability and development in the eastern regions.
In a separate meeting, President Irro received a high-level delegation from the United States, led by AFRICOM Commander Gen. Dagvin Anderson and U.S. Deputy Ambassador Justin Davis. Talks centered on enhancing security cooperation, protecting Red Sea maritime routes, and boosting joint counterterrorism efforts in the region.
The President highlighted Somaliland’s stability, democratic governance, and strategic location, reaffirming the country’s readiness to deepen collaboration with both Denmark and the United States in security, economic development, and investment.
These engagements reflect Somaliland’s ongoing commitment to strengthening international partnerships and promoting regional peace and stability.
