Hargeisa, May 10:- Somaliland’s icon of peace Haji Abdikarim Hussein ( known as Haji Abdi Warabe) has passed away, today May 10, at Hargeisa International Hospital.
Haji Abdi, an MP of Somaliland’s Upper of House of Parliament, Guurti, was regarded as a symbol of peace and reconciliation since the rebirth of Somaliland Republic in 1991.
Yusuf Kayse Abdillahi, a close relative, confirmed the death of Haj Abdikarim. His burial will take place tomorrow morning in Hargeisa.
Haj Abdikarim was one of the oldest chiefs in Somaliland. His age is estimated more 120 years.
His tribute and prayers have poured to Social media, wishing him Paradise.
