Maroodijeeh Regional Court Approves the Newly elected Local council Members of Hargeisa

The Maroodjieeh regional court has formally approved the 17 elected local council members of Hargeisa. The event was attended by senior government officials including the Governor of Maroodijeeh, the Police chief and other representatives from the opposition political parties.

The Chairman of Maroodijeex regional court Dr. Abdi Qawdhan announced the approval of the new local council members of Hargeisa and their names to the public.

This coming Saturday, the new Hargeisa local council members are expected to have their first meeting where eventually they will elect the Mayor and his deputy.

The regional courts of Awdal and Sahel also ratified the elected local council members of the two electoral districts separately yesterday. Some of the senior government officials were present to witness the event including Mohamed Kaahin who is the interior minister.
