President Abdirahman Irro Attends 14th Graduation Ceremony of the Civil Service Institute

His Excellency, President of the Republic of Somaliland, Dr. Abdirahman Mohamed Abdillahi (Irro), today presided over the 14th Graduation Ceremony of the Civil Service Institute (CSI).

This year, 485 students successfully completed Level 1 and Level 2 programs, with 80% of the graduates serving as government employees — underscoring the Institute’s vital role in building the capacity of the public sector.

In his keynote address, the President warmly congratulated the graduates, their families, and their instructors for this achievement. He urged the graduates to remain committed to learning, to use their knowledge with purpose, and to dedicate their skills in service to the nation and its people.

President Irro emphasized that civil servants are the backbone of the state, noting that their professionalism and competence directly shape the quality of public services, the transparency of governance, and the pace of national development.

The President praised the Civil Service Institute for its pivotal contribution to strengthening state institutions, describing it as a strategic institution dedicated to cultivating a highly skilled, ethical, and professional workforce that serves Somaliland with ability and integrity. He encouraged the Institute to uphold the highest standards of education and training while advancing research that supports national development goals.

Highlighting Somaliland’s abundant natural resources, the President underlined the importance of self-reliance and innovation. He stressed the need for the nation to harness its wealth responsibly, reducing dependency on foreign aid and imported goods, and ensuring sustainable growth rooted in domestic capacity.

Concluding his remarks, President Abdirahman Irro reaffirmed that knowledge is the foundation of progress and that the future of every nation rests on the ability and integrity of its civil servants. He called upon the graduates to become role models — men and women who embody excellence, service, and commitment to the Republic of Somaliland.
