Somaliland’s Waddani Presidential candidate Abdirahman Irro has complained about the planned assassinations in Lasanod that led to the protests that have been going on for the last 4 days.
He called upon the Somaliland government to remove the burden of the military from the city saying that it is not a solution to use guns and troops against the people during demonstrations.
He also stated that Somaliland gov’t failed the responsibility to ensure security of the lasanod people, underlining that it was the center of their discussion in his last meeting with the residents of lasanod in November.
The Presidential candidate said that it is unfortunate that the government forces to kill at least 10 people who were demanding justice for their loved ones and injured more than 50 people.
Abdirahman irro sent a message to the people of Sool, especially Lasanod, to calm down and avoid insecurity activities and asked security agencies to bring the perpetrators to justice.
He also sent a call to the House of Representatives, business man and leaders of Somaliland not to underestimate this issue and to come to the aid of the people of Sool
