Regional Judge killed in Eastern Somaliland

The chief justice of Sool regional court Hassan Sheikh was assassinated in Las Anod on Monday afternoon.

Chief Justice Hassan Sheikh Mohamoud was killed in a bomb attached to his car.  The car exploded while the judge was driving alone. He immediately died of serious wounds sustained in the explosion.

This is the first time a Somaliland government official was targetted in a bomb explosive inside Las Anood. So far, no one has claimed responsibility for the assassination.

The authorities of Sool Region are yet to comment on the death of the chief justice. 

Abdirahman Irro, the leader of the opposition party Waddani, condoled with the family of the deceased judge. He called on the government to bring the perpetrators to justice.
