Several leaders from the region expected to attend Hassan Sheikh’s inauguration ceremony

The inauguration of Somali President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, which is set to take place this week, is currently underway in Mogadishu. The government is gearing up to receive an international delegation to attend the inauguration of President Hassan Sheikh in Mogadishu.

Kenyan President Uhuru Kenyatta, Ethiopian Prime Minister Abi Ahmed and Djiboutian President Ismail Omar Guelleh are among the leaders expected to attend the inauguration.

Some of these leaders expected to attend the ceremony including Uhuru and Guelleh had differences with the former government led by the immediate former President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmaajo.

There are other leaders who had close links with Farmaajo including Ethiopia’s prime minister, Abiy Ahmed. President Sheikh is expected to normalize the Somali government’s diplomatic and trade relations with neighboring countries.
