Abdirhaman Abdishakour Warsame, a former Somalia Minister of Planning and currently the Chairman of Wadajir party has extended his gratitude to the Somaliland house of representatives for electing democratically an opposition figure as new speaker.
The aspiring Presidential candidate said it is politicaly and democratically mature for a ruling party to accept defeat for both Mayorship of the major cities and the Speaker of the house in the country. He added that Somaliland people deserved to be congratulated for this achievement.
Abdirahman Abdishakour highlighted that his country is struggling to hold a simple indirect election where the public was not even involved in the election. The chairman of Wadajir party reminded the president of Somaliland that people in Mogadishu are enemies to Somaliland people.
On Tuesday, Somaliland house of representatives elected an opposition MP as the new Speaker of the house, a move that was welcomed by many people.
