The Somaliland government is deeply concerned about the safety of its citizens in Sudan and informed all Somaliland citizens in that country to register with the Somaliland foreign affairs ministry’s diaspora Office as soon as possible as the war enters the second week in Sudan.
In a statement, the foreign affairs ministry revealed that the government is making plans to evacuate its citizens from Sudan by dispatched members of Somaliland Embassy in Ethiopia to the border to assist citizens with a safe passage back to their home.
We would like to assure our citizens fleeing the conflict that we are doing everything we can to assist with their return home. The statement from foreign affairs ministry reads, however, other countries have also made similar decisions and commenced the evacuation of their citizens and diplomats after fighting intensifies.
