Somaliland Deputy Minister Livestock and Fisheries Development Mahmoud Jamac Warfaa, who held a press conference at the Ministry’s headquarters, responded to accusations to the ministry from the Secretary General of livestock and fishery development of Wadani party Ahmed Shukri and the Chairman of Nafaqo Union, a Somaliland livestock slaughter development association.
The Deputy minister dismissed and denied the accusations against the ministry saying that they filed a case against the opposition politician and demanded from him to provide acceptable evidence in court.
The Deputy Minister stated that Ahmed Shukri is suspecting Somaliland livestock being sick and having diseases so that the livestock are stopped from being exported to other countries. The Chairman of Nafago Union Saeed Ibrahim Farah who after the accusation held a press conference apologizing and saying he was angry and asked forgiveness to the ministry.
Mahmoud Jamac Warfaa insisted on that the accusations were false and there is nothing wrong with the Somaliland livestock and the slaughterhouse and clarified that they have at least 16 doctors who examine each animal and check its health
