Somaliland national electoral commission members held talks with the political parties to discuss on the upcoming elections . After the two hours long meeting, some of the political representatives addressed the media and said they had agreed on the national electoral commission to start the voter registration process in May.
Officials however declined to give details on which election; the Presidential or political association , will be held first as it has been the center of controversy between the government and oppositions.
Ismail Yare, a senior officer of WADDANI party, strongly denied to shed light on which election will be held first and said he has no authority to publicly give details. However, Somaliland is expected to hold a Presidential election and political associations election at the end of this year
According to officials,the voter registration process will take a three month period.
