Somaliland President Sacks Two Ministers, Appoints Replacements

Somaliland President Muse Bihi Abdi today appointed two new cabinet ministers for the ministries of Health Development and National Planning.

In a presidential decree, received by Somaliland.com, stated that the president made the new cabinet appointments with a new Somaliland representative to Ethiopian capital.

Mr. Abdirahim Osmaan haji Abdi (Shibbiin) becomes the new minister for National Planning and Development ministry. Ex-minister Awaleh Ibrahim Shirwa was relieved from his duties without any explanation for his dismissal

Mr. Omar Ali Abdillahi Bade is appointed as the new minister for the ministry of Health Development, vacated by Dr. Hassan Ismail Yusuf. The presidential decree did not mention the Ex-minister’s name. This proves that the recent rumors of his resignation are true due to his health condition.

In addition to the two ministers, President Muse also appointed Mr. Abdinasir Aideed Mohamed Farah for the position Deputy Minister for the Ministry of Interior Affairs.

Somaliland’s Representative in the Ethiopian Capital Addis Ababa, Mr. Ahmed Hassan Egal, was also sacked and replaced by a new Representative Mr. Salan Hassan Kayd Abdilleh.
