Somaliland President Musa Bihi Abdi has received in his office British Ambassador to Somalia Kate Foster together with head of UK’s mission to Somaliland, Mr. Stuart Brown, at the presidential palace.
According to Somaliland Presidency, Kate Foster arrived in Hargeisa on a working visit and the meeting focused on strengthening ties between the two countries.
Somaliland Presidency also noted that President Bihi briefed the newly appointed Ambassador on the democratisation of Somaliland since it withdrew unity with Somalia in 1991.
The meeting also focused on UK’s support for Somaliland in terms of social development projects and the current security situation in the horn of Africa region.
This marks the first time Kate Foster visits Hargeisa ever since she was appointed as the Ambassador to Somalia. She thanked the president for receiving her at his presidential office.
