Somaliland President Muse Bihi Abdi is expected to deliver his state of the nation address on Monday after a long delay. The statement was announced by the house of representatives’ speaker Abdurizak Khalif on saturday.
The speaker received a request letter from the President stating his desire to have a joint meeting of the two houses on monday to deliver his state of nation address where he is expected to focus more on current political situations, upcoming elections and the foreign policy of his country.
Bihi is more likely to mention in his address the forthcoming Presidential election of Somalia which is to take place on 15th May. Meanwhile, the Mps asked the speaker of the house to send a request letter to the president to take questions from the Mps soon after he finished his speech.
The speaker emphasized this could only be a bilateral decision as the state address applies to both houses of parliament and he will report back to the lawmakers on the final decision.
