Somaliland security officer killed in Lasanod town

Lasanod (Somaliland.com) -A gunman has shot dead a Somaliland custodial corp last night in Lasanod, the provincial capital of Sool region in Eastern Somaliland.

Reliable sources have confirmed that the shooting happened near Lasanod central prison where the gunman opened fire on the custodial corp and he died soon on the spot.

Sool regional governor identified the murdered soldier as Fahad Salat Hashi

Stray bullets also wounded a man near the area of the attack named Saeed Umal, that was admitted to Lascanod hospital.

Somaliland Police forces initiated a manhunt operation in the city in search of the man behind the killing.

So far, the security agencies and regional officials in the province have not yet commented on the killing of the officer and the search operations that are ongoing in Lasanod.
