Maroodijeeh women have strongly urged President Muse Bihi to hold the presidential election on 13 November without delay and to immediately start expediting the electoral process that could be the voter registration exercise.
The women who were carrying placards reading “ Timely election, YES.. unconstitutional postponement, NO” said the President should be ready to check his second chance for presidency but should not attempt to seek unconstitutional term extension.
The gathering came as the opposition parties had announced to hold massive protests against election delay though they have not been given a date. The government also ordered security forces to do anything possible to prevent the protests
The country’s presidential election will take place on 13 November of this year, but the political association election has become the center of conflict between the government and opposition parties.
