Somaliland’s house of representatives has denied plaintiff charges filed against Abdimalik Mouse Oldon who has been in police custody for three months and said they have no involvement in his arrest and demanded for his release.
The statement came barely a few days later after the Maroodijeeh regional court issued some of his accusations and plaintiffs including the house of representatives. Some of the house of representatives who spoke to the media described the statement as “misleading” information.
Abdimalik Oldon was arrested after he unearthed the story of a female Nigerian who is in Hargeisa as the president of Barwaaqo University and expressed his concern over her presence in the country for spreading christianty in the country, an allegation that was later on denied by the University management.
The journalist has been arrested several times on various cases including his ideology of pan-somalism, the Abaarso School accusations, and being critical to the current government of Somaliland.
