Somaliland’s presidential spokesman Mohamud Warsame Jama has announced his resignation from the post of speaker of the Somaliland presidency, saying he is a candidate for the Somaliland House of Representatives.
The spokesman also thanked Somaliland President Muse Bihi Abdi for his commitment to the post during his three years in office, and praised the president for his role in inspiring the youth. He also thanked former President Ahmed Silanyo for appointing him to his first post.
The spokesman also said that from today he is officially a candidate for the Somaliland House of Representatives and wants the people of Sanaag region to represent them in the upcoming Somaliland House of Representatives elections.
Candidates for local councils and parliaments in Somaliland have already been informed to resign from their positions in the Somaliland government offices 90 days before the scheduled date for the local council elections.
