Taiwan Awards Scholarships To Somaliland Students

Twenty  Somaliland students were on Thursday awarded scholarships to study in Taiwan.

Taiwan Representative Office in the Republic of Somaliland officialy announced the names of the first beneficiaries of the education partnership between the two countries.

Thirteen students will benefit through the Taiwan Scholarship programme while seven others have been awarded courtesy of the Taiwan ICDF Scholarship in 2021

“It’s the first time that Taiwan Government awards 20 Scholarships since we established our representative office in Somaliland. We also have other students who have separately been awarded scholarships by Taiwanese Universities,” the Taiwan embassy in Hargeisa said in a  statement.

Taiwan Representative Office in the Republic of Somaliland will organize an orientation for the Scholarships awardees, hold an official awarding ceremony in August, issue the visas and facilitate logistic supports to travel to Taiwan.
