The 4th annual Borama Book fair officially opened today

The 4th annual Borama Book Fair has officially opened Wednesday in Borama. Government officials, politicians, Mayors, intellectuals and other dignitaries from across the country have attended the opening ceremony. During the two days event, there will also be public discussions on good governance and leadership.

The Mayor of Borama Mohamed Ahmed Warsame whose city was hosting the event officially declared the event open, and gave welcoming remarks to the guests. He stated that it’s an honor for the city to receive such a big number from across the country.

On the other side, the Governor of the city Ahmed Mohamed Ali (Tiinbaro) told the public to not put their personal interests over the statehood and should understand that mixing the two could spoil the country’s good governance.

The Secretary General of waddani party Khadar Hussein Abdi praised the organizers of the book fair and the progress they have made in a short period of time saying that it shows the efforts put into things that benefit the community and congratulated the team for their good work, stating that the event was held in a region known for its long historical relationship with education.

He also mentioned how social culture plays a vital role in good governance and recommended Somaliland people to have a cultural shift in order for this horn of africa state to make progress in various aspects.

However, Some of the participants have expressed their experience about the occasion and believe that it’s one of the most important events in the region for the last four years. They were also given a chance to ask questions to government officials during the Benel discussions.
