Three people killed in car accident in Burao, Somaliland

Three people were killed and seven others injured in a car accident that took place last night in Qoyta area in the outskirts of Burco town in Somaliland. Residents said the accident took place when the vehicle they were traveling in lost control and overturned.

Somaliland traffic police officers arrived at the scene, and together with locals, helped rush the injured to the general Burao hospital for treatment. Doctors did not give details on whether the injured were in a critical condition or stable.

The Burao road has seen several accidents that have claimed the lives of many people leaving scores others injured. Members of the public are blaming the administration for neglecting the road which has gaping holes, posing great danger to its users.
