The Social affairs secretary of WADDANI party Mohamed Saddiq Dhamme has said that Somaliland roads development authority misused public funds, calling on the auditor general to investigate the case. However the officer did not provide further details on how he obtained this information.
Mohamed Saddiq Dhamme disclosed that some of the roads development authority employees had not been paid for a year and some for three months. He stated that the workers include a number of employees who are now working on the construction of Erigavo road. He demands an immediate response regarding this matter from the government.
He urged both the auditor general and the Somaliland house of representatives’ public accounting committee to investigate the case. The national roads development authority has not yet responded to this allegation.
