The Swedish government has applauded Puntland’s Democracy performance during a virtual meeting between the regional state president Saed Abdullahi Deni and the Swedish ambassador to Somalia Steven Tleder…
The agenda of the meeting was to discuss in depth ways to strengthen collaborations between the two sides as well as accelerating the performance of Puntland democracy.
According to Puntland officials, the Swedish ambassador to Somalia showed strong support for Puntland’s democracy. He also discussed with Saed ABDULLAHI Deni on resolving disagreements between the federal government and its member states over the upcoming elections.
The meeting comes as no agreement has yet been reached by the Political stakeholders of Somalia for the upcoming parliamentary and Presidential elections. Some regional state leaders and other Presidential candidates had opposed the scheduled election date set by the federal government.
