The President of the Republic of Somaliland, Abdirahman Mohamed Abdillahi Irro, today attended the 22nd Graduation Ceremony of Hargeisa University, where he delivered a speech to the graduating students and congratulated them on their success.
The President warmly conveyed his congratulations and best wishes to the graduates, their teachers, parents, and the administration of Hargeisa University, describing this achievement as the result of effort, struggle, and great patience.
This year, the 22nd graduating class of Hargeisa University consisted of 1,355 students, awarded both first and second-level degrees. Of these, 703 (52%) were female and 652 (48%) male.
The President praised Hargeisa University for its vital role in development and service to the community, describing it as a pillar of the nation that nurtures knowledge and research, producing skilled and educated generations who can lead the country toward sustainable progress.
He emphasized the importance of research programs for the future of Somaliland, noting that his government of unity and performance will continuously support university research and innovation projects that align with the modern lifestyle of the people of Somaliland.
The President encouraged the graduates to use the knowledge they have acquired to serve their society and nation, urging them to play an active role in developing the country, creating jobs, and driving new innovations that can overcome the challenges currently facing Somaliland’s youth.
Finally, the President of the Republic of Somaliland, Mr. Abdirahman Mohamed Abdillahi, offered the graduates parental advice and guidance: to avoid all forms of addiction, and to stay away from tribalism and anything that could harm the unity and cohesion of the people of Somaliland.
