The Banadir Regional Court yesterday pronounced a 7,000 USD fine on a British citizen accused of disrupting the security of Aden Adde International Airport in Mogadishu.
The 48-year-old British identified as Andrew Brain Irlam was found guilty under Article 34 of the National Security Act, and the court eventually ordered the man to pay a $7,000 fine.
Security officials at the airport had previously arrested the Briton in Mogadishu on 6 July 2019 in possession of seven bullet-magazines and bulletproof vests while traveling to the United Arab Emirates.
Andrew Brain Irlam also holds French citizenship and has worked with SKA, a company that was previously in charge of airport operations at Aden Adde International Airport.
