A Puntland military court on Monday sentenced a Puntland military officer to death for allegedly facilitating the killing of P&O director Paul Anthony Formosa.
The convicted soldier of the Puntland Navy was among those arrested for the assassination of the P&O managing director, who was shot dead by gunmen in Bossaso, the capital of Bari region on 4 Feb 2019.
The judge noted the defendant can appeal the case.
The verdict comes days after administration of Puntland has vowed to investigate the assassination of Paul Anthony Formosa.
