Jowhar (Somaliland.com) – Sources say that Al-Shabaab has killed Senior officials of HirShabelle state of Somalia in a roadside bomb attack at Gololey area, about 7Km away from Bal’ad town on Saturday.
Reports have confirmed the death of State’s Trade minister Sabriye Osman Tohobow, deputy Finance director of Middle Shabelle region Abdullahi Shitawe and Hassan Ahmed Osoble, Baldos, a popular humanitarian worker.
Sources in the area confirmed that Shitaawe and several other officials including former HirShabelle trade minister Sabriye Osman died on the spot when the vehicle they were travelling hit an explosive improvised device suspected to have been planted on the roadside.
Several other people also sustained injuries in the deadly blast which occurred when the convoy was travelling along Jowhar-Bala’d highway.
Somalia’s Jihadist group, Al-Shabaab, has claimed the responsibility of the attack.
